Karma
This post is about different for me...
We watched season 21 of The Amazing Race this week. I know season 22 is currently airing, but we like to record them and then have a marathon. Its fun and way less stressful. I could not be more overjoyed with the winners. They are the Fabulous Beekman Brothers guys, Brent and Josh. This is such a weird thing to blog about but here is why I'm happy they won.
This is by far the silliest of my blog posts, but whatever. I had to get it out, man. I just had to.

- The Sri Lanka "twinnies" were the worst contestants on any reality tv show ever. EVER. If they won, I was never watching that show again.
- Two of the top four stole money from another team. They didn't get a penalty, but they should have. We kept waiting for karma. She didn't show up until the last leg when the twinnies were kicked off. Then the other stealing team came in third. HAHA. Jerks.
- The teams in front were 6 hours ahead of the ones in the back and they STILL used the double u turn to screw one team because they were good competitors. That is part of competition. This is what drives me crazy about Survivor too. Wouldn't you want to compete against people that challenged you? Worthless.
- The teams in front had an alliance and were rude to anyone who wasn't part of it. The winning team said, "it was really demoralizing. It felt like high school again. Unlike high school, we didn't run away and cry in our bedrooms. We became incredibly motivated." Thank heaven!
- The winners were humble, kind, real people who had hard times but overcame them. Talk about motivation!
- Chippendale's Jaymes and James. Those arms. I would have loved you if you would have stayed true to who you were, but you changed for those dang twinnies. Not even your amazing arms and synchronized swimming bodies can make up for that.

FOOD.
Seriously.
Someone needs to help me.
I love food. And I even love the healthy crap.
For instance,
I made this amazing dish last night.
I put olive oil in the pan. I then put half of a red pepper (chopped up of course) in the pan and had it on medium high. Then I put three chicken breasts (well endowed chickens if I do say so myself) in the pan and let them hang out for a minute. Then I put about a tablespoon of parsley and one of basil on the uncooked side of the chicken. I flipped it. Then I put about a tablespoon of pepper on them. Added 3 whole yellow onions, a package of mushrooms, the rest of the red pepper turned it down to medium and watched in wonder. I thought, "Hmmm, I wonder what would happen if I added a bit of chicken broth." Magic. That was what happened. I am going to throw out that it was around 1/4 cup? Maybe? Anyway, I did it, put a little more basil and parsley and let it simma.
My house smelled delicious.
Then, I cooked some whole wheat/grain (whatever they freaking call it) pasta. I chose regular spaghetti and it was the best choice I made yesterday. After making sure the chicken was completely cooked, which I always worry about, I combined them and stirred and smelled.
I'm a freak for good smelling food. Which makes for an awful situation when bad smells are afoot.
So anyway, I ate this for dinner. And then breakfast. And I may or may not have to eat it again ASAP.
Don't judge me. Or do. Whatever.
Anyway, In the midst of making this, I made a three tiered checkerboard cake for my friends birthday. Frosted with the most amazing chocolate frosting. It was a good night.

This picture doesn't do it justice. But isn't that a beautiful plate? Hunter Cowan baby! And I have a matching cake plate, soup bowl (which is my favorite), and mug. How classy is that crap?? |

Books!
So, I just started a new tradition with my niece, Kennedy. We are reading together a few times a week. So the first book I chose was Charlotte's Web.
And what a good choice it has been! We are only at chapter three, but I love it. I think this is a book that could make anyone love reading. So far, my favorite moment is when Fern cries out that it is an "INJUSTICE" that her father is going to kill a baby pig! Kennedy loved it. So if you are in a rut, even if you have already read this book, read it again. It is so worth your time.
Salutations!!

Love
Okay...so I first heard this song last month...
And it really spoke to me. Why do we do most of what we do?
Because of love.
Anyway, here it is...

Music
Day 30: Your favorite song.
Wow...this is so intense.
Favorite???
Ugh...are you kidding me right now? Okay. I will give you my favorite song for right this second. Maybe when I post this, it will change. Decisions are hard.
Anyway, that wraps up the 30 day challenge. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Be prepared, I have books to talk about the next few posts :)

Learnin'
Day 29: In the past month, what have you learned?
Things I have learned:
That's enough for now.
Things I have learned:
- I cannot handle the smell of beer. At all. So gross.
- I am tougher than people think.
- Trying new things can be very liberating.
- Giving up "unnecessary" shopping might be a really hard thing to do, but it is ultra fun to plan what you are going to buy when Lent is over.
- Heating pads and ice packs can work wonders.
- The Kroger brand of Teddy Grahams are about $2.00 cheaper and they taste better.
- Watching Modern Family can make every single day better.
That's enough for now.
Changes
Day 28: A picture of yourself last year and now. How have you changed since then?
Well, for starters, my hair has gotten longer...
Most of the changes that did happen were not physically.
I think that the past year, I have learned a lot of lessons and changed internal things about myself.
Gosh...aren't my nieces adorable??

Baggage
Day 25: What would I find in your bag?
It should be noted that my "bag" is a canvas bag with the Raisin Bran sun on it, with slogans such as, "Love your Sunny! Reduce, Reuse, Recycle two scoops of fun!" and "We are Raisin awareness for a sunny planet!" Get it? Raisin, cuz of Raisin Bran? That is clever, I don't care who you are!
So inside this bag you will find:
Day 26: What do you think about your friends?
Really? That is like asking, "What is good about cream cheese?"
I think my friends are pretty great. Especially the ones that I can say what I think with. I'm pretty lucky with friends, the ones I have are awesome.
Day 27: Why are you doing this 30 day challenge?
I'm doing it because I kinda never know what to blog about next, so this helps :)
